Why We Care

Great Escape serves as a resource not only for mustangs but also for the humans who care for them. Mustangs are naturally adapted to thrive in the wild, but when they enter the human world, they can easily fall through the cracks. Unfortunately, both the horses and their adopters can find themselves in challenging situations that require support.

Like any breed, mustangs have unique behaviors and needs that may be overlooked by those with experience only in domestic horses. This oversight can lead to unfortunate outcomes, such as neglect, abuse, abandonment, starvation, and frequent changes in ownership, or even worse, being sent to auction or slaughter.

This is where Great Escape steps in as a crucial resource and educational hub, dedicated to improving the relationship between mustangs and their human companions.
